Every team space comes with a space agent: the team’s shared memory, able to answer. Members capture and post, and the agent reads all of it, so what the team knows no longer depends on who’s in the room or who’s already answered the question twice.

Where to find it

The space agent works in three places:
  • In the feed. Tap Ask under any post or note, or @mention the agent in a reply. It answers right there, so the next person to open the post sees the question and the answer.
  • In Messages. The space agent sits at the top of the Messages tab, for questions you’d rather ask one-on-one.
  • On its own. The agent posts in the feed when something needs a person, like a price that jumped or a credit that’s still owed. Otherwise it stays out of the way.
Ask it what happened with a supplier before you joined, what was agreed at last week’s walkthrough, or what the team spent on produce this month. Those are the questions that otherwise interrupt whoever’s been around longest.

What it knows

The space agent reads the team space’s public feeds: everyone’s posts, everyone’s notes, and the replies around them. The boundaries are the same ones that govern everything in Gobi:
  • Never anyone’s Personal space. Members’ Personal spaces don’t exist to the space agent.
  • Each person gets only what they can see. The agent answers you only from what you could open yourself. For other people’s notes, that’s the Summary. It uses your own transcripts and side notes only when it’s answering you, and it won’t reveal anything you couldn’t already see, however the question is phrased.
  • Private feeds aren’t remembered. The space agent can’t see private feeds. If you @mention it in one, it reads just enough to help, and it remembers nothing from that feed afterward.
  • Messages stay out. Your conversations with teammates in Messages are never part of what the agent knows.

Shaped by the team

Admins can give the space agent a name, standing instructions, and the space’s timezone in Space settings. Instructions shape its voice and priorities, but never its boundaries. No instruction makes it see private feeds, Personal spaces, or anything the person asking couldn’t see.

Coming soon: reports on a cadence

Soon you’ll be able to attach a workflow to a feed, and the space agent will work on a schedule: a weekly invoice report every Monday, or an end-of-day summary every evening. See Feeds.

Two agents, two sides of the line

Your personal agent knows your Personal space, and a space agent knows its team space. They don’t compare notes. Asking your personal agent exposes nothing to any team, and asking a space agent draws nothing from your Personal space. Each agent answers from its own side of the line, which is what makes it safe to capture for your team and safe to keep things for yourself.
