Capture happens in Home
Every capture starts in your Home, wherever you are in the app. You cannot start one inside a space. What you record lands with you, and sharing it is a second, separate step. Your devices connect to Home as well, so everything you capture arrives in the same place no matter what recorded it.Sharing into a space
Share a note into a channel and the members of that space can read its AI summary. That is the moment a conversation becomes visible to anyone else. The transcript and audio stay with you, the person who recorded. Teammates read what Gobi wrote about the conversation; they don’t get the recording or the word-for-word text. With no space to share into, the app says so directly.A note with nowhere to go is still safe in your Home.
Across spaces
Spaces don’t leak into each other. A note shared into one space is not visible in another, and nothing syncs between a space and your Home on its own.Voice data
Gobi uses voiceprints to recognize speakers across conversations. One person can have several linked to them, because the same voice comes through differently from one room to the next. Your voiceprints and the people in your directory live in Home too. Under the previous model they belonged to the space the conversations were captured in and were shared with everyone in it. The personal-core decision on 07-24 moved notes, the directory, and the devices you pair all into Home.Improving Gobi’s models
Account settings → Use my data to improve models is on by default. Your data is anonymized and used to improve the experience for Gobi users. Turning it off takes your captures out of that; nothing else about the app changes. See account settings.Sharing outside Gobi
Sharing a note out of the app makes an artifact from it. The artifact holds the AI summary. The transcript, the audio, and your side notes are not in it and stay in your Home.Share with link gives that artifact a URL like https://gobispace.com/artifacts/76511802-74db-43dd-80e3-0391132e30c3, and anyone holding the URL can open it without signing in. Share with people sends the same artifact to an email address and makes the reader sign in.
So the summary is the only part that can travel, and a link URL travels as far as whoever it’s forwarded to. Details in share a note.
Posts are different. A post link is
https://gobispace.com/spaces/{slug}/posts/{id} and shows a login wall when you open it signed out, so posts stay with the space’s members.
