# Glossary

> Gobi's words, each in a sentence or two.

**Admin** — A space member who manages
[settings, members, and invitations](/spaces/settings-and-members).
Spaces have admins and members, nothing else; the creator
starts as an admin, and any member can be made one.

**AI Chat** — The tab where you talk with your
[personal agent](/personal-core/personal-agent) — ask anything
your captures can answer.

**Attachments** — [Photos and files kept on a capture](/summary/attachments),
added during the conversation or after. They stay in your Home
even when you share the capture.

**Attendees** — [The people on a Summary](/summary/attendees).
You add them yourself, and Gobi links the names you use across
captures — nothing is recognized automatically.

**Capture** — The act at the center of Gobi, and the thing it
produces: a conversation
[captured on your phone](/capture/on-your-phone), turned into
a transcript and a Summary, private to you from the first
second.

**Channel** — [A room inside a space](/spaces/channels) holding
one conversation — a deal, a client, a topic. Marked **#** when
shared, with a lock when private.

**Direct message** — [The smallest room in a space](/spaces/direct-messages):
a conversation with one member or a few, outside the space's
memory.

**Home** — [Where everything you capture lives](/personal-core/home),
visible to exactly one person: you. The private half of Gobi,
and the default destination of everything.

**Inbox** — [The tab where Gobi taps you on the shoulder](/spaces/inbox):
finished Summaries, activity from your spaces, mentions, and
DMs, in one stream.

**Invite link** — [The way into a space](/spaces/join-a-space).
Spaces aren't browsable or searchable — a link (or a direct
invite) is the only door.

**Member** — Anyone in a space. Members see the channels
they're part of and share what they choose; some members are
also admins.

**Notes** — [Your own words on a capture](/summary/your-notes),
typed while it's happening or after. Private to your Home,
always — sharing a capture never publishes them.

**Personal agent** — [The agent that knows your Home](/personal-core/personal-agent)
— every capture, Summary, and note — and answers only to you.
You'll find it in the AI Chat tab.

**Personal core** — Your private half of Gobi as a whole: your
[Home](/personal-core/home), your
[personal agent](/personal-core/personal-agent), and the
[private-by-default rule](/personal-core/private-by-default)
holding it all together.

**Post** — [How conversation happens in a channel](/spaces/posts-replies-reactions).
Written from scratch, or carrying a shared capture — with
replies threaded beneath it and reactions for everything that
doesn't need a sentence.

**Space** — [The shared half of Gobi](/spaces/join-a-space): a
place a team or group shares into together, made of channels,
members, and one agent. A space only ever contains what its
members deliberately gave it.

**Space agent** — [A space's collective memory, made answerable](/spaces/space-agent).
It knows what the space was given — never anyone's Home — and
answers each member only from their rooms.

**Space digest** — [The week's activity, by email](/spaces/settings-and-members)
— for staying current without patrolling channels.

**Summary** — [What a capture becomes](/summary/overview): the
one thing, how things stand, what's worth noting, and next
steps — with the transcript behind it and your notes beside
it. The unit you read, edit, and share.

**Transcript** — [Every word of a capture, kept](/summary/transcripts) —
with the original audio replayable behind it. Yours alone,
even when the Summary is shared.
