# Welcome to Gobi
> Gobi is an ambient intelligence company building the capture layer for the real world, a presence that privately remembers every moment you live.

## Core concepts
Four terms come up everywhere in Gobi:
* **Capture**: One captured moment — a conversation, meeting, voice
memo, note, or photo. You decide when to capture; nothing is
captured on its own.
* **Summary**: What a capture becomes. Every capture is understood
into [a Summary](/summary/overview) — the one thing that mattered,
where things stand, who was there, what's next — with the full
transcript alongside.
* **Personal core**: Your private, accumulating memory. Every capture
lands in [your Home](/personal-core/home), visible to you alone,
and your [personal agent](/personal-core/personal-agent) answers
from all of it.
* **Space**: Where your team shares memory. Share a capture into
[a Space](/spaces/create-a-space), and it becomes context your
team — and the space agent — can see, discuss, and build on.
## Why use Gobi
**Your best conversations stop vanishing.** The meeting, the call,
the hallway idea — captured as they happen and understood into
summaries, people, and next steps, instead of typed from memory at
midnight.
