# Quick start

> From download to your first captured conversation.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get the app">
    Download `Gobi: In-Person Capture` from the App Store. Android is in the works.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Sign in with Google or Apple.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Say what you'll capture">
    `What will you capture? Pick what fits.` **Tick as many as apply**: `Sales & client meetings`, `Networking & events`, `Recruiting & interviews`, `Customer discovery`, `Ideas & thoughts`, `Everyday conversations`. `Skip` works too.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on notifications">
    `Gobi comes back with things`: finished notes, new people, mentions. **Allow them and you don't have to keep checking**, or choose `Not now` and turn them on later in settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the note that's already there">
    A new Home comes with **one note already in it**, `Learn how to use Gobi`, built from a recorded conversation between two people named Mark and Ada. Play the audio, read the summary, flip to the transcript. It shows you what a finished note looks like before you make your own.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Capture your first conversation">
    Tap the `+` button and start recording a conversation. **It begins right away.** Talk as you normally would, and type side notes if something is worth flagging in the moment. The same menu takes a photo, a written note, or a file. See [ways to capture](/capture/ways-to-capture).
  </Step>

  <Step title="End and let Gobi work">
    Tap end when the conversation is over. Gobi **transcribes the audio, separates the speakers, and writes a summary**. Longer conversations take longer to process, so check back in a moment.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open your note">
    Find the finished note in **Notes**. Read the summary, or switch to the transcript to see who said what.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Bring your team (optional)">
    Create a space and invite people with a link or by email. Notes you share into one of its channels become part of the team's context. **Your Home stays yours.**
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Capturing hands-free needs a Gobi Sense, paired from **Account settings → Device**. See [ways to capture](/capture/ways-to-capture).
