# Join a space

> Someone invited you to a Gobi space. Here's what you're walking into.

If your company or a partner invited you, you're joining their [space](/introduction/glossary#space). This page is what changes for you, and what doesn't.

## Getting in

    An invite reaches you as a link or an email. Both land in the same place.

    Google or Apple. There's no email-and-password signup. See [download the app](/getting-started/download).

  <Step title="You get your own Home, plus the team's space">
    Signing up creates your **Home**, where everything you capture lands. The invite adds the **team space** alongside it. Tap the space name to move between them.

## What you can see in the team space

* **Its [channels](/introduction/glossary#channel).** Posts, replies, and notes people shared there.
* **The [AI summary](/introduction/glossary#ai-summary) of notes your teammates shared into it.**

## What stays yours

**Everything you capture, until you share it.** Captures land in your Home, which has one member. A teammate sees a note when you put it into one of the space's channels, and then only its summary.

**Your transcripts and your audio.** Even for a note you shared, teammates read what Gobi wrote about the conversation. They don't get the recording or the word-for-word text. See [where your captures go](/privacy/your-captures).

## Your role

**Members** post and share. **Admins** manage the space and the people in it. An invite makes you a member unless the person inviting you says otherwise. See [spaces and channels](/spaces/overview).

  People in the directory don't need Gobi accounts. If you were in a conversation someone captured, you may already be in their directory. That's how the product works, and [where your captures go](/privacy/your-captures) covers who can see what.
