# Import an audio file

> Turn an existing recording into a Gobi note.

Already have a recording? Import the audio file and **Gobi treats it like a live capture**: transcription, speaker separation, and a generated summary.

Use it for recordings made outside Gobi, like a voice memo from your phone or a file someone sent you.

The imported file becomes **a note in your Home**, same as a captured conversation.
